Teachers are so SPECIAL!!

It is teacher appreciation week and we are here to celebrate all of the amazing teachers out there.  Follow along with each of us as we take a moment to reflect on some of the favorite teachers in our lives!

As early as elementary school, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher.  Don't I look like that kind of kid? haha

I was fortunate enough to have so many wonderful teachers throughout my childhood.  When reflecting on past teachers for this post, there was one teacher that really stood out in my mind, my fifth grade teacher.

When I was in fifth grade, my teacher was extraordinary.  She made learning hands on and engaging long before it was ever "cool" to do so!  I remember turning our classroom into a rainforest to learn about habitats and ecosystems.  We had a giant "space bubble" in our room that we could go into to read.  We dissected worms, built a totem pole, and made a glass mosaic of the Chesapeake!  I knew that this was the type of teacher I wanted to be.  One that made learning exciting and the classroom the best place to be.

This was our field trip to Mt. Vernon!

Who was your favorite teacher?

  1. Sounds like your fifth grade teacher is like my fourth grade teacher! Isn't it great how those are the ones we remember the most?! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

  2. How fun! That most definitely was a labor of love to decorate the room that way, but what a great way to make the information stick. :-) Have a great week!

  3. What memorable events your teacher created to help you learn! Those are the moments that stick with us. You look like a teeny-teacher in that first picture...super cute!
